Thinking About a Seasonal Site? Here’s What to Know

By The Campground Team·May 27, 2026·6 min read

There’s a moment a lot of weekend campers hit: you’re packing up on a Sunday, the kids are already asking when you’ll be back, and you think — what if we just left the camper here? That’s the idea behind a seasonal site, and for the right family, it changes everything about how you spend a summer.

What a seasonal site actually is

A seasonal site is your spot for the whole season, spring through fall. You leave your camper set up, decorate the site how you like, and come and go whenever you want without booking a thing. No towing, no setup, no teardown — you just drive out, unlock the door, and you’re on vacation. At All My Family & Friends, seasonal families are the heart of the park: 140 of our sites are seasonal, and a lot of them come back year after year.

The part people don’t expect: the community

The biggest surprise for new seasonal campers isn’t the convenience — it’s the neighbors. When the same families are around all summer, kids grow up together on the beach, adults trade dinners and lawn chairs, and holiday weekends turn into something closer to a reunion than a getaway. It’s a built-in community that’s hard to find anywhere else, and it’s the reason so many people never go back to weekend-only camping.

Weekend camping is a trip. A seasonal site is a second home with a lake in the backyard.

Is it right for your family?

A seasonal site makes the most sense if you find yourself camping several times a summer, you live close enough for easy weekend runs, and you like the idea of one familiar place instead of chasing new reservations. If you only get out once or twice a year, a nightly or monthly stay is probably the better fit — and a great way to test the waters first.

Questions worth asking

Before you commit, get clear on the details. Ask about what the seasonal rate includes, how electric is metered, storage and winter policies, guest rules, and what’s expected for site upkeep. We’re happy to walk you through all of it — that’s what the office is for.

Come see if it fits

The best way to know is to spend a weekend here and feel the place out. Take a look at our amenities and the area, then reach out about seasonal openings — we keep a waitlist, and spots open up each year.
